Visa The Regional Sponsored
Migration Scheme (RSMS) is for employers
in regional Australia, to fill skilled
positions they are unable to fill from
the local labour market.
Under the RSMS, employers are able to
nominate staff from overseas or temporary
residents currently in Australia to
fill full-time, permanent vacancies.
Who is this visa for?
The employees applying for a visa can
be either of the following:

Skilled workers
from overseas.
*
Skilled temporary
residents.
To apply for this visa types, applicants
must:
*
Visa applicants
must be sponsored by an employer
that has approval for the appointment.
*
The appointment
provides the employee with full
–time employment for at
least three years.
*
In general
the appointment must be for someone
with a diploma or higher qualification
that has certification by a professional
(gazetted) body and unless the
appointment is exceptional, the
person has been employed in work
of the kind for which he or she
was trained, or in which he or
she is experienced for at least
3 years.
*
Unless the
appointment is exceptional, the
applicant must be under 45 years
of age and have vocational English.
- the person satisfies the Minister
that the person has achieved an
IELTS test score of at least 5
for each of the 4 test components
of speaking, reading, writing
and listening in a test conducted.

Applicants
must satisfy health and character
requirements.

in Australia.

healthcare through Medicare and

(PBS).

social security payments (subject
to waiting periods).

for Australian citizenship (subject
to the residency eligibility criteria).
About this Visa The Employer Nomination Scheme
allows Australian employers to sponsor employees
who are foreign nationals for a permanent
visa to work in Australia.
Who
is this visa for?
This visa is for Australian employers who
want to sponsor highly skilled workers for
a permanent visa to work in Australia.
The employees can be either:
