The Business Skills Migration (BSM) program underwent
some major changes from the 1st of March 2003
when the Australian Immigration Department introduced
the two- stage policy.
Under the two-stage arrangements, business migrants
are granted a Business Skills (Provisional) visa
for four years and, after establishing the requisite
level of business or maintaining their eligible
investment, are eligible to make an application
for a Business Skills (Residence) visa.
A direct permanent residence category will still
be available for high-calibre business migrants
sponsored by State/Territory governments. This
is known as the Business Talent visa-subclass

Visa
This visa is for people
who have a successful business career,
and have a genuine and realistic commitment
to be involved as an owner in a new

Who is this visa
for?
This visa is for business owners from
overseas who intend to own a business
in Australia, and are less than 45 years
of age.
To apply for this visa types, applicants

Who is this visa for?
Senior executives from overseas who through
their experience have gained the skills to
successfully manage a business in Australia,
are less than 45 years old, and their family.
To apply for this visa types, applicants must: |

four (4) years, and are less than 45 years
of age.
